THE ROOM!
I have the worst reputation in my family of managing to let my bedroom get into a right big mess. But what's the big problem?! It's an organised chaos.... I think. My room is a little white and pink (a lot of pink) box room. It's filled with teddies from years ago, books, magazines, clothes, cushions, bags, belts, several pencil cases, jewelry, a glass frog and of course CRAP!
I love it when it's clean, for about three days that is, before I start actually living in it instead of acting like I'm staying the night at a hotel. It doesn't feel like my room when it's that clean, the floor should be like an obstacle course. Tip toeing around scissors, bouncing off fluffy toys, skipping through the miniature field of paper and random pieces of plastic, knocking into the side of the draws and then of course the impressive dive onto the bed with just the right amount of force to reach it but not to break the bed. That seems more like my room.
Of course there are some problems with having a messy bedroom.
I can't find anything!! I put something down but then the next thing it's gone. It's been absorbed by the mountains of crap on every surface available. But this can be nice when I'm cleaning my room and find something I thought I'd never see again. This brings me to my second point.
You have to clean your room! Even though I'm quite happy in this environment there comes a point when it all gets a bit too much and you realize that if you don't clean it you will one day get lost in the mess yourself.
Now it seems that the easiest way to clean my room is to just stuff it all under the bed and in the wardrobe. No-one will know.
I have this picture in my head of what my home would have when I'm older. Awesome patterned vintage chairs, colourful vases, BIG bedroom, ornaments from everywhere, like boot sale's and auctions, hand made decorations, retro lamps, rusted chandeliers in a conservatory, old rugs, unique wallpaper, artwork, computers, tellies.
But now I'm beginning to realize that it probably won't look like that, well not exactly. The ornaments would be dusty, I'd loose the remotes for the tellies. I love art and fashion so I'd probably be doing something creative (which usually involves being very messy), I'd have paint all over furniture and CRAP! all over the floor.
But I guess it's something that will never change, it may be mess but it's my beautiful mess.
What's your habit?

Shutters
When I went to France I couldn't help noticing the shutters on every single building in sight, from the alpine style houses to the big old buildings in Annecy. When I'm older I will have to have these on all my windows.

Summer Nights
Summer days driftin' away, to uh-oh those summer nights..........Uh Well-a well-a well-a huh
The best thing about summer has got to be the long evenings, recently I've been going for long walks and it is so worth it. The last time I went on one of these splendid walks was Wednesday, I think.
It was a fairly grey day (as most days have been this summer) and I was playing the new zumba fitness, it's very good, when a great big beam of light shone through the living room window it was at least 8:00pm but I didn't care, I was going for a walk. So I got dressed in my blue stripey shorts and sandals and went off, after walking into a bit of forest I was encountered by a swarm of overgrown grass and nettles, great, maybe I shouldn't have worn those sandals. So it was back onto the road. As I walked uphill on the pavement I saw all the cars pass by I could only imagine the faces of the people inside. Sometimes I feel like I'd be judged for wearing something in particular? Confusing, I guess I'm worried about what people think.I decided to go outside in my shorts because it's SUMMER, for some reason people have a problem with me wearing shorts to go out. It's surprising what a piece of clothing can do.
Anyway, putting my randomly confused mind to one side, the walk was great and I couldn't help taking a few pics...
I am obsessed with taking pictures of the sky in Summer, it's so blue, if only I lived abroad. I was just on my way home wen I saw the reflection in a car of the sky, I turned around only to see the sky full of bright pink and purple clouds. The sunset is amazing.

The White Shirt
This year has been full of vintage style clothing, and I love them! Along with 50's dresses and the beautiful jewelry, blouses and shirts have played a big part in this trend. The white shirt is a fashion classic and a summer essential and the best of all it is suited to all ages.
Along with the 70's look white is essential for this season with lace and embroidery. I love all the styles this season but I think that this one stands out a lot.
So I decided to get a white shirt but unfortunately I could not find one to my expectations (yes i can be picky). The white shirt is simple and classic but I wanted to combine this with a bit of lace and decoration. So I got an usual school shirt which they make you button to the top and wear with a tie which I hate! Luckily our school no longer make us wear these dreadful things and so I no longer needed the shirt.
So I got the shirt and changed it, first I changed the collar, to begin with it was a big pointy collar which I did not like so I cut it shorter so it looked more casual. Then the sleeves I also cut the sleeves and rolled them up so that they sat at my shoulders, then I sewed it into place. I was left with the bottom of the sleeves which always have buttons so I cut these into an arrow type shape and sewed these onto the shoulders. To finish it off I placed some beautiful ribbon and lace on the pocket and from the shoulders to the collar
Task complete

This summer I want to....
make stuff.
For a long time now I've simply wanted to just make stuff it's part of what I am, I want to be creative. When I walk into a shop I love what I see but it's not exactly what I want so I think to myself, i'll do it myself.
There's so many ideas just bursting to dive out of my brain. Do you get that sometimes? When you can't wait to do something but there's always something in the way. Well now is the time and since the sun is refusing to show it's face I must find a way to entertain myself before i can go to the beach.
I can't wait to get started on the jewelry, the clothes and the random awesome stuff I plan or happen to find myself doing anyway. xxx
